Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Yes, we do have an application and it typically takes less than 10 minutes to complete. You can also upload your resume which is helpful to support the application or provide additional information.

If I applied for a position, will I receive an interview? 

Your application will be considered and reviewed in comparison with the other resumes we received. The most-qualified applicants may be invited to participate in an additional assessment such as an interview. Selected applicants will be contacted by text message, phone, or email to set up an interview. A typical time-frame is about 1-3 weeks.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes, our HR team will get in touch with you to ask some initial questions. More technical questions regarding the job duties will be addressed in a formal interview setting which can include the Hiring/Department Manager(s) as well as an HR Representative.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or motor vehicle reports before hiring an application?

Yes, we do perform drug screening, background, and motor vehicle reports as a condition of employment.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

River States Truck and Trailer has our very own in-house facility to keep our technicians educated and informed so they can grow in their career and our company! We help them to stay up to date on their skills because we believe in growing and investing in our employees. Our Corporate Trainer, Kevin Bestul, has over 35 years in the industry and brings with him the experience and knowledge to keep our technicians up to date on the latest industry technology.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession? Do you have an apprenticeship program?

River States Truck and Trailer has representatives that attend job fairs in our local communities. We also have an Apprentice Technician Scholarship Program which provides tuition assistance based upon grade-point average as well as an annual tool allowance to help them jump start their careers. We do high school visits and are eager to assist in any other questions a high school student or tech student may have about pursuing a career in this field.

What are the shop hours and shift timeframes?

River States Truck and Trailer has several locations. Each shop has their own hours and shift timeframes. Because of this variety, we are able to offer various shifts to accommodate the employees needs and lifestyles.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

River States Truck and Trailer provides most everything outside of the basic mechanic tool set that a technician would own. We also offer a tool allowance of up to $800 annually to help our technicians put the best tools in their toolbox.
